On Saturday, March 12th, we all woke up to the news of the inhuman murder of an Israeli settler family of 5 in the illegal Israeli settlement of Itamar north of the West Bank. Israel quickly pointed the finger at the Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority and blamed them for their death, without having any clues or names of who might have committed this immoral act.
Hours after the news broke out, the Israeli cabinet approved 500 additional housing units in several illegal settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in what it described as "revenge against the Palestinians". The "revenge" doesn't end there, so far Israel has detained 300 people in the West Bank city of Nablus (neat the Itamar settlement). So far, there are no suspects.
New reports show that it is possible that foreign workers might be behind the murder considering they have access into the settlement.
It is not new that Israel is using the tactic of blaming Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims whenever a crime is committed.
It is no secret that Israel is getting isolated from the world for failing to comply with its obligations, the first one is to freeze all illegal settlement activity. So it is in my belief that Israel wanted something like this as an excuse to enforce more restrictions on Palestinians and build more illegal settlements.
The Palestinian Authority, Palestinian factions and citizens condemned this cruel crime, and called for the murderer to be brought on trial in Palestine (if he was Palestinian).
